Maya is a beautiful and loving 1-year-old Labrador mix who weighs around 30 lbs. She was rescued in March 2024 and is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. Maya is an intelligent, obedient, and playful girl who adores affection. She can be a little shy at first with new people but quickly melts into your arms once she feels comfortable. Maya is sociable with humans, children, and other dogs, and she enjoys playtime, walks, and runs. She is also crate and leash trained. Maya's story is a touching one; she was found with her six siblings in a field, all born around March 8, 2024.
Ideal Home
We are looking for an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and is committed to providing Maya with a home where she can thrive. Ideally, this would be a home with a fenced backyard. We also seek families with an open mind and understanding of the unique needs and behaviors of rescued animals, especially those requiring protection and education. Previous experience with dog behavior and training is highly beneficial, as is a high level of patience and tolerance, especially for rescued pups who may be adjusting to a new life.
Ongoing Health
Maya has completed a comprehensive health protocol. She has been spayed, microchipped, and received DHPPI (2 shots), Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines. She has also been dewormed and tested negative for heartworm. She is up-to-date on monthly preventive treatments with Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are available.
Training & Support
While Maya is crate and leash trained, it's important to note that she is not currently house-trained. Rescued animals can sometimes have adjustment periods, and Maya may require patience and understanding as she settles into her new home. She may have experienced trauma before her rescue, and consistent support and clear communication will be key to her successful integration.
