Homer

Homer is an incredibly sweet boy who brings so much joy! He has two distinct personalities: in a fenced yard, he's calm and relaxed, happy to just hang out beside you, sunbathe, nap, and watch whatever you're doing. He'd be the perfect companion for supervising yard work! But the moment a leash is clipped on, Homer believes he's in the Olympics and needs to win gold in speed walking. He pulls with great enthusiasm, so he definitely needs some leash manners and someone willing to work with him on this.

We rescued Homer from the Petersburg Animal Shelter after he spent a year there in a stressful environment. Since coming to us, he's relaxed tremendously, becoming calmer, happier, and truly enjoying his outside time. He's become such a chill companion when he's able to relax and be himself. Homer enjoys the occasional game of tug-of-war, keeps a very clean kennel, and we truly believe he'll make a wonderful inside dog once he settles in, as he's incredibly calm and affectionate.

Homer needs work on leash manners as he pulls significantly on the leash.
