She is incredibly sweet, amazing with kids, dog-friendly, and respectful around cats. Tamera Honey is believed to be a German Shepherd mix, approximately 12 years old, and weighs 58 lbs. While her exact age and breed are a mystery as a rescue, she shows all the signs of having some German Shepherd in her. We'd love to find adopters who have some GSD experience, understand their independent spirit, and are ready for a loving, adventurous companion. She is treat-motivated, eager to please, and already knows an impressive list of tricks including sit, down, shake, spin, roll over, and speak! Tamera is crate trained and potty trained, and with consistency and treats, any additional training will be a fun and rewarding experience.
Ideal Home
Tamera Honey would thrive in a semi-active home that enjoys neighborhood walks, a little adventure, and a whole lot of affection. She would make an amazing adventure buddy and loves to explore. A home with a backyard where she can stretch her legs and hang out alongside you would be ideal. Apartment living will not be a good fit for her. She has been around children as young as 7 and handled them beautifully, showing gentleness, patience, and respect.

Tamera Honey walks fairly nicely on a leash and may pull occasionally out of excitement, but she responds well to gentle reminders and is easy to refocus. She is comfortable tandem walking with other dogs. She is dog-friendly and has done great with all introduced dogs, though she prefers slightly slower introductions before playtime. Her play style includes mouthy air play and nose boops, and she enjoys chase games. She will give subtle corrections if play gets too rough. She is respectful around cats and showed all the right signs when meeting a house cat.

Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. For Canadian adopters, pick-up is available in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
