About Gypsy

Gypsy is a sweet Lab mix who is seeking a stable, loving forever home. She spent her whole life with one family but was surrendered when her owner became ill. Fortunately, Gypsy has known the joy of being a cherished family dog since she was a puppy. Now a budding senior, she's a moderate-energy girl who enjoys a good romp with younger dogs before settling down for some relaxation. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes and has also been observed to do well with cats. While she can be a little reserved at first and might shy away from sudden movements, Gypsy blossoms into a very affectionate and outgoing companion once she feels comfortable. She's a natural at making new friends and is great with visitors. She has done well with children ages 8 and older, though her interactions with younger children haven't been observed.

Ideal Home

Gypsy would thrive in a home that can offer her stability and affection. While she has done well with dogs of all sizes and has been observed to do well with cats, she has also lived as an only dog, so she would likely be happy as the sole cherished pet or with canine companions. She has done well with children ages 8 and older, but her compatibility with younger children has not been assessed.

Ongoing Health

Gypsy is up-to-date on her shots, has been spayed, and is microchipped.

Training & Support

Gypsy is potty trained, crate trained, and exhibits good house manners. She can pull on the leash and is a strong dog, so she would benefit from continued leash training and a handler who can manage her strength. She has a funny habit of "talking" when she wants something and enjoys keeping an eye on her surroundings, happily "guarding the perimeter" of the yard.
