About Annie
Annie is a sweet, spunky Shih Tzu and Poodle mix, estimated to be around 7 lbs and 20 lbs fully grown. At 3-4 months old, she's a bundle of affection, always eager to explore and meet new friends, both human and canine. Annie thrives on being part of her family's life, whether it's playtime in the yard, cuddling on the couch, or adventuring out and about. She's a master at entertaining herself with her toys but truly shines when she's with her people. Annie has a balanced energy level, with playful bursts followed by a desire to relax. She’s also learning to entertain herself with toys when she can't find a playmate, and she enjoys napping in her kennel.
Ideal Home
Annie would love an active family that enjoys walks, exploring, and including her in daily activities. She's also happy with a family that prefers cozy evenings at home for snuggles. A fenced yard would be ideal for her to run and play. She would also thrive in a home with another playful dog and children she can play with. If she is the only dog, regular playdates or doggy daycare would be beneficial. She would do best with older children experienced with smaller breeds who know how to handle her gently, as she can be wiggly when excited. Annie is also dog-friendly and cat-friendly, provided the cat is comfortable around dogs and has experience with them. Public dog parks are not recommended for Annie.
Ongoing Health
Annie is spayed and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has received a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and any necessary vet care while in rescue.
Training & Support
Annie is kennel trained and potty trained, alerting her foster family when she needs to go outside. She is beginning leash training and will need continued practice. A doggy doorbell is recommended to help her learn to notify you when she needs to go out. She needs a consistent schedule and to be taken out every few hours initially. She is starting to teething, so her humans will need to watch that she doesn't chew on children's toys. If she is the only dog, she would benefit from frequent play dates or doggy daycare.
