Harley Quinn is a 3-4 year old female who found herself pregnant and in a high-kill shelter. She delivered six beautiful, healthy puppies while she was there and was thankfully taken into foster care within 48 hours of their birth. She was a wonderful mom to her puppies and allowed her foster parents to handle them without any issues, seeming to appreciate their help in keeping them safe. Her puppies have all found their forever homes. Harley is believed to be a Lab/Pit mix and is a very sweet and affectionate girl with high energy. She needs lots of exercise and activity to help her focus and be the good girl she wants to be. She would love a loving but firm pet parent who can provide her with consistent training and one-on-one time, which will help her reach her full potential as a great companion for an active family.
Ideal Home
Harley would thrive in an active home where she can run, hike, and be engaged. Due to her active prey drive, homes with cats, fowl, or other small animals are not recommended.
Ongoing Health
Harley is up-to-date on vaccinations and has tested negative for heartworm.
Training & Support
Harley tends to jump on people, and this is actively being addressed. She also has an active prey drive, so caution is advised around smaller animals. She has done fairly well with the calmer dogs at her foster home with slow introductions, but cautious introductions to other animals are recommended.
