Charlie Bones is a sweet guy who loves car rides, going on walks, and chewing on bones. He navigates the world with three legs and a bit of baggage, but with patience, he promises to be your most loyal companion. Charlie can be initially distrustful of new people, but he has warmed up to all the staff here. His foster mom describes him as sensitive and reactive to people, noises, and movement, especially men, sudden household sounds, and triggers on walks. He often freezes, scans his surroundings, and then needs gentle encouragement, like treats, to keep moving. Charlie shows strong interest in other dogs and may benefit from a calm canine companion. His primary ongoing needs are confidence-building, trust, and help regulating his anxiety.
Charlie Bones loves bully sticks, pupsicles, marrow bones, or any other "project" chew. He also enjoys cheese and wet food, chasing small squeaky toys, snuffle mats, playing "Find It" in the grass, and easy puzzle toys. He likes rolling in the grass, soaking up the sunshine, and getting his hair brushed. Charlie seems to appreciate an indoor fan to sit by, possibly because he runs a bit warmer due to his thick/long coat. He enjoys chasing bubbles, jogging on walks, and getting his left ear/side rubbed and scratched since he can't reach it himself. Soft beds are also a favorite.
