Corkie is a charming 9-month-old Whoodle with a sweet, gentle, and observant nature. He came into rescue with his brother, Chester, and while both boys initially lacked early social experiences, Corkie has blossomed into the more confident of the two. He's a fast learner when it comes to trusting new people, approaching slowly for treats and then happily leaning in for affection once he feels comfortable. Corkie adores other dogs his size or smaller, enjoying their company and following them to learn routines and explore his surroundings. He's quite the water enthusiast, loving his kiddie pool so much that he was shaved down for comfort.
Ideal Home
Corkie thrives with the companionship of another friendly dog of similar size or smaller, as he gains confidence from their presence. He needs a secure, fully fenced yard for safe exploration. Due to his flight risk when startled, doors, gates, and transitions must be handled with care. He is not suited for a home with young children and does best in a calm, patient household where a primary caregiver is home more often. He cannot be crated due to past anxiety and should be kept in a safe room with a pet gate when unattended.
Ongoing Health
Corkie is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccinations.
Training & Support
Corkie is not yet ready for leash walks and will need continued positive reinforcement to build confidence in this area. He is not to be crated; a pet-gated room should be used when he is unsupervised. Prior experience with shy or unsocialized dogs is a plus for potential adopters.
