Romina

Romina is a beautiful young pup, about 1 year and 8 months old, weighing 57 lbs. She has an incredible spirit and a big heart that shines through her playful personality. Romina had a tough start to life. She was found abandoned in an empty lot, injured and infested with fleas. After being rescued and taken to the vet, it was discovered she had an old hip fracture that had already healed on its own. With time and care, she recovered wonderfully. She now walks and runs with ease, though one of her legs remains slightly shorter than the others—it doesn’t slow her down one bit!

This girl is full of energy and loves to run, chase balls, chew her toys, and enjoy yummy treats besides her kibble. Romina is very loyal, curious, and affectionate with humans. She also gets along well with other dogs and has experience living with cats. While she doesn’t attack them, she can be a bit rough when playing, so supervision is best. Romina is a social dog who enjoys the company of both kids and adults. She’s used to sleeping in her crate, walks nicely on a leash, and joins right in when her doggy friends bark—her voice is strong! She’s still young and likes to chew anything that catches her attention, so she’ll thrive in a home that can give her structure, playtime, and lots of love.

It's essential to recognize that our dogs may have experienced trauma before arriving at ADAC. As a result, they may require an adjustment period in a foster or permanent home. Patience and understanding are absolutely crucial when dealing with rescued dogs. By understanding and supporting our rescued dogs, we can help them overcome their trauma and find a loving home where they can thrive.

Training & Support

Romina is not house-trained. She is still young and likes to chew anything that catches her attention, so she will thrive in a home that can give her structure, playtime, and lots of love. Patience and understanding are crucial when helping rescued dogs adjust to a new environment.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• Fill out our adoption form.
• Send photos/videos of your home so we know your future furry friend will be safe.
• If it’s a match, we’ll call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and take a virtual home tour.
• We’ll speak with 1-2 of your references.
• If approved, you’ll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

Transportation

Romina is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transportation is available door-to-door for a one-time fee of $400 USD. This fee covers the transport of your pet from Mexico to your home, including a contracted transport company, necessary paperwork (Transport Contract, USDA Health Certificate, health protocol certificates), and real-time updates during the journey. We organize 3-4 trips per year with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip.
