Ribsy

Ribsy is a handsome, approximately 2-year-old, 70-pound pup with a heart of gold. While his exact breed mix is a mystery, his foster mom describes him as the kindest dog ever. He’s a devoted cuddler who wants to be an integral part of his family. Ribsy gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and humans of all ages. He can be a bit skittish around loud noises and isn't a fan of car rides, likely because his previous rides only led to the vet. However, we believe this will improve with positive experiences.

Ideal Home

Ribsy would do best with a family that understands his need for shorter walks. While he loves to play, an old injury affects his endurance, and he tires after about a mile. This means he would be a great match for a less active person or family.

Ongoing Health

Ribsy has an old injury that affects his hind end, causing him to bunny hop when he runs. X-rays have been done, and nothing obvious was found, but he does get tired after shorter walks.

Training & Support

Ribsy is a smart and food-motivated boy who is eager to please! He has mastered "sit" and is learning "come," with "down" being the next command to master. He’s working on his excitement-induced jumping. He is not crate-trained but happily sleeps on an orthopedic bed. He’s using the doggie door and signals when he needs to go outside. He needs to be picked up to get into a car at this time.
