Meet Django!
Django is a bright and curious two-year-old mixed breed with a sleek black coat and white accents. Weighing in at about 50 pounds, he's a medium-sized boy who forms deep bonds with his people, greeting them with enthusiasm after every absence. He's a smart and active companion who balances affection with a love for adventure. Django thrives on connection and purpose, enjoying cuddles and leaning in for pets once he feels safe and comfortable. His adventurous side means he adores toys of all kinds and loves a good game of fetch. He also enjoys walks, runs, and swimming, often proudly carrying a stick or ball as if it's his important job. Django is a quick learner and enjoys training, already knowing many cues like sit, stay, down, come, heel, place, leave it, drop it, and no bark, with "ok" as his release cue.
Ideal Home
Django would thrive in a quieter, child-free, and cat-free home, likely as the only dog. An active family who understands reactive dogs and enjoys training would be a great fit for him.
Ongoing Health
Django currently takes daily Fluoxetine to help manage anxiety.
Training & Support
Django experiences fear-based reactivity to unfamiliar noises, unexpected distractions, and dogs encountered on leash. He requires thoughtful management in public and benefits from a predictable routine and continued behavior support. He also has a history of resource guarding with other dogs around food, toys, or personal space. Meeting guests outside first and allowing him to warm up helps him feel secure. With structure, exercise, and patient guidance, he continues to grow in confidence.
