Branch is a sweet and curious 11-week-old male Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) mix who weighs 12 pounds and will be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. He absolutely loves being around his people! Branch is a bright and motivated puppy who thrives on activity and mental stimulation. His breed is known for high energy, so he's searching for an active family who can help him channel his puppy exuberance and keep him entertained. Consistent and positive training is a must for this intelligent breed, and early socialization is key. Because cattle dogs can sometimes nip to herd, it's important for potential adopters to research the breed's training needs and temperament. Branch enjoys playing with toys and gets along well with his littermates.
Ideal Home
Branch needs a family that understands the energy and training needs of an Australian Cattle Dog mix. Due to his breed's herding instincts, homes with small children who play roughly may not be the best fit, as he might try to herd them with nips.
Ongoing Health
Branch will be neutered, microchipped, and receive his second round of puppy vaccinations before adoption on July 3rd. He will require a third and fourth set of vaccinations after he finds his forever home.
Training & Support
Branch is currently working on pad training and will need continued potty training in his new home. He is learning "sit," "no," and "come." He currently sleeps through the night in a puppy pen, and his foster is hopeful this will translate well to crate training.
