Meet Layla!

Layla is a stunning 5-year-old pup with a gorgeous, light brown coat, big, upright ears that practically demand ear scratches, and a heart full of love, just waiting for the right family. We think she might be a Shepherd-Pitty mix, but with rescue, its always a guess but one thing is certain: shes one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet.

Layla is a little shy at first, and she takes her time warming up to new people. But the magic happens when she finds someone she trusts, her tail wags, her eyes sparkle, and she showers that person with quiet, devoted affection. Her foster has proven that with a little patience and love, Layla will absolutely learn to trust and adore her humans. Shes a gentle soul, the kind of dog who will curl up next to you, soak up pets, and quietly remind you that love does not always need words.

This doggy superstar's tail wags the second she sees her four-legged friends, and she thrives when she has a dog companion to hang out with. Shes social, friendly, and polite. Layla loves her canine family and will happily spend hours snuggling, chilling, or just walking side by side with her doggy buddy. She's not looking for a playmate for zoomies, she is looking for a bestie for life. Layla is also cat-tolerant, giving kitties her polite bubble of space while still coexisting peacefully. So if your kitty minds their business, Layla will do the same!

Ideal Home

Layla would do best with older children around 8 and up because of her sensitivity to new people and touch. She needs a home where she can decompress, feel safe, and let her personality shine at her own pace. She absolutely needs a dog friend to share her life with – her happiness depends on having a fellow pup to lean on. A calm home with older kids or adults who love slow snuggles, soft pets, and peaceful companionship would be ideal. She may need a little leash confidence in new places before apartment life is fully comfortable, but once shes settled, shell be a quiet, loving companion anywhere.

Ongoing Health

Layla is up to date on all vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, and a 12-month heartworm preventative injection. She has also tested negative for heartworm.

Training & Support

Layla is a gentle and sensitive soul. She may take her time to warm up to new people. Patience and love will help her learn to trust and adore her humans.

• The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting, transport, and a 30-day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion.
• You will have the opportunity to meet your pet through a video call before the adoption is finalized.
• All dogs are assessed with trainers on staff, and behavioral modifications are made as needed.

Transporation

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. This includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada. For Canadian adopters, pick up is available in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. There is an $87 surcharge for transportation due to rising costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
