Navajo, a 6.5-year-old, 75-pound neutered male Pitbull mix, is a sweet, affectionate, and easygoing pup who brings the perfect balance of playful energy and relaxed companionship. He’s the kind of dog who’s just as happy joining you for a daily walk as he is curling up nearby for a cozy evening at home. Navajo enjoys playing with other dogs, particularly in one-on-one or small group settings, and usually reads social cues well. He has progressed well with his doggy manners at daycare and is polite and non-reactive on leash, though he may pull a little at the start of walks when excited. Navajo is fully house-trained and crate-trained, can be left loose in the house without issue, and has shown no signs of separation anxiety. He loves meeting people and has done well around children, though interactions with very young children haven't been fully tested. He adores toys, is a champion cuddler, is an excellent car rider, great at the vet, has no issues with stairs, and loves cozy nap spots. Navajo has shown no resource guarding.
Ideal Home
Navajo would thrive in a stable, moderately active home that enjoys daily walks, occasional outings, and lots of affection. He doesn't need an ultra-active lifestyle, just consistent exercise, love, and companionship. He could do well as an only dog or with a compatible canine friend. Navajo would do best in a cat-free home due to a strong prey drive and fixation toward cats observed during a boarding stay.
Ongoing Health
Navajo needed dental work upon arrival to foster care, and several damaged teeth were removed, including his canines. His remaining teeth are healthy, and he happily chews his favorite bones without any trouble.
Training & Support
Navajo occasionally may need gentle redirection if he gets a little too excited during play with other dogs.
