Ginger is an approximately 2-year-old sweetheart weighing in at just under 30 pounds. She came to us through one of our rescue partners along with her six adorable puppies. While we don't know exactly what breeds make up Ginger's family tree, she is a unique blend of breeds! Since we have no idea who dad was, your guess is as good as ours.
When Ginger first arrived, she was fiercely protective of her babies and made it very clear that she didn't trust anyone. But once she realized she and her puppies were safe, the tough exterior she had built to survive melted away faster than we ever imagined. Underneath was one of the sweetest, most affectionate dogs we've had the pleasure of meeting. Today, Ginger is a total velcro dog who simply wants to be near her person. She loves snuggles, belly rubs, and following her foster mom around throughout the day. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people, all it takes is a few minutes, some gentle affection, and maybe a treat or two before she's convinced you've been friends forever. Once she bonds with someone, she loves deeply and loyally.

Ginger is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated (DAPP, Lepto, & Bordetella), and dewormed.
Training & Support
Ginger is potty trained, walks nicely on leash, comes when called or whistled for, and sleeps quietly in her crate every night. She is doing very well with crate training overall. She has shown some mild separation anxiety, mostly crying for a short time when her foster mom leaves, but she has not been destructive. Ginger gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and enjoys running and playing in the yard with her foster siblings. She has shown little interest in the barn cats at her foster home and was actually more intimidated by the goats than they were by her! She is also respectful of the 4-foot fence at her foster home.
