Marty is a delightful one-year-old Dachshund-Chihuahua mix with a heart full of playful energy and a sprinkle of sweet charm! He's a true social butterfly with other dogs, possessing a confident and respectful nature that makes him a fantastic canine companion. Marty loves the great outdoors and is always up for an adventure, especially if it involves exploring trails and going on hikes. He's not hyperactive, but rather has a well-balanced energy that allows him to enjoy both active play and relaxing downtime.
Ideal Home
Marty needs a home with a securely fenced yard, specifically a 6-foot privacy fence, as he's shown a knack for climbing shorter fences. He thrives in the company of other dogs, particularly larger female dogs, and is also respectful of cats and friendly towards horses, goats, and rabbits. He may not be suitable for homes with flock birds. While he is affectionate, Marty needs a patient and understanding human who will take the initiative to gently hold and interact with him daily to help him build trust and confidence.
Ongoing Health
All our adoptable pets receive comprehensive veterinary care, including spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Specific details about Marty's health history will be provided by our team.
Training & Support
Marty is still building his confidence with human interaction and benefits from gentle, consistent encouragement. He's a quick learner and will continue to blossom with patience and positive reinforcement. Training is an ongoing journey, and we encourage his adopter to embrace the learning opportunities that come with him.

- Out-of-state adopters are welcome at their own expense.

Transportation
Marty is currently located in our care. Travel to adopters may be possible at the adopter's expense, with a minimum charge of $35 up to $85 in addition to the adoption fee, depending on travel distance and the number of meet-and-greets. The travel fee is due when the meet-and-greet is scheduled. We DO NOT ship our adoptable pets.
