Meet Cotton Ball, a gentle and sensitive soul who is learning what it feels like to be loved. She weighs 32lbs and her estimated birthday is March 26, 2022. Cotton Ball came to us from a difficult hoarding situation where she didn't receive the care or attention she deserved. She arrived underweight, but with good food, patience, and kindness, she is slowly gaining strength and confidence every day.
This sweet girl can be a little shy when you first meet her, but that's okay. The world is still a big, new place for Cotton, and she's looking for someone who understands that trust takes time. When she starts to feel safe, you'll notice her soft eyes, quiet tail wags, and a gentle presence that just wants to be near you.

Cotton Ball would do best in a calm, loving home where life moves at a slower pace, allowing her to continue blossoming in her own time. She's not a dog who will rush into your arms immediately, but she is the kind who will build a deeper, quiet, and loyal bond that's truly special.

Training & Support
Cotton Ball is kennel and potty trained. She is also dog-friendly. She needs a patient adopter who understands her need to go at her own pace.
Application Details:
- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
- Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.
- Listed breed and age are based on a best-guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.
- Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.
- All of our adopters are invited to join our "Alum Pupdates" Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!
Transportation
Cotton Ball is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee. Please note that pickup locations for transported dogs may vary, including to nearby towns or states.
