Rex

Rex is a handsome boy, likely around six years old, who was rescued from the streets of Houston. He was found lying in the heat, perhaps waiting for a rescue or for the owners who abandoned him. Despite their betrayal, Rex clearly remembers and misses his past family. He was hesitant at first but eventually jumped into a car with strangers, leading him to our rescue. Rex is a mature dog who carries the weight of his past, showing confusion and a deep longing for the people who left him behind.

He has a strong, dominant personality but avoids conflict. While he may lean in for pets in a quiet moment, he is not afraid to let you know if he feels uncomfortable or if you're being too familiar, sometimes with a growl. Rex responds to kindness and yearns for it, but he is also grieving the loss of his former life. Finding him a family might be a challenge, as he may struggle to trust again. He is a shepherd with a strong character and needs an experienced adopter who understands his needs. We believe his perfect home is out there.
