Meet Missy! This lovely 40-ish pound Heeler mix was born on December 22nd, 2024, and is a bundle of playful energy and intelligence. Missy came to us in May from California, having been pulled from a shelter. She's spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines. Missy is a busy body who loves to run, play with toys like bones, balls, squeaky toys, and tug ropes, and is always up for an adventure. She's incredibly friendly, food-motivated, and eager to please, making training a rewarding experience. Despite her high energy, she also enjoys a good snuggle and a fuzzy blanket. While she's a good girl who tries her best, she's still working on confidence training, especially when meeting new dogs.
Ideal Home
Missy would thrive in an active household with a large fenced yard or acreage, or a family committed to a dog-friendly daily routine. She needs a home with someone experienced with working breeds or who has done extensive research. Due to her high prey drive, Missy cannot live with cats or small animals. She would do best in a home with a submissive dog or one who can offer appropriate corrections, as she is selective with other dogs.
Ongoing Health
Missy is spayed, microchipped, and current on her DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines.
Training & Support
Missy is intelligent and eager to please, and her food motivation makes training easier. She's had some training and needs firm guidance and continued confidence-building, particularly in social interactions with unfamiliar dogs. Her strong herding instincts mean she needs ample daily exercise to fulfill her drive to "chase and herd."
