Right now, this pup is looking for a calm and loving home where they can focus on healing. During treatment, they will need a quieter lifestyle with lots of naps, cuddles, and relaxation while their body recovers. Activity restriction during this time is temporary but very important to help ensure a successful recovery.
Ongoing Health
This dog is currently receiving treatment to become heartworm-free. Heartworm disease is treatable, and dogs who complete treatment typically go on to live long, happy, healthy lives. Heartworms are spread ONLY through mosquito bites — not from dog-to-dog contact. Your current pets cannot catch heartworms from this dog through normal interaction, shared water bowls, cuddles, or playtime.

If you live within 60 miles of Kansas City, you may qualify for our foster-to-adopt program while this dog completes heartworm treatment. Our rescue continues to provide medical support during treatment while you begin bonding with your future family member.
