Maeve

Maeve is a charming 8-year-old, 10 lb chihuahua mix with a sassy spirit and a heart full of love to give. She came to us through a difficult situation and has overcome a lot. Maeve is incredibly sweet, cuddly, and loyal, always happy to snuggle up by your side. She's friendly towards people and will shower you with affection.

Ideal Home

Maeve would thrive in a home where she can be the queen of her castle, ideally without another dominant dog, as she prefers to be the boss. She enjoys her crate when her foster mom is away, showing she's adaptable and well-behaved.

Ongoing Health

Maeve has a history of medical needs and has undergone several surgeries, including one for a large inguinal hernia (she's had two procedures to address this) and the removal of a mammary mass. She was also spayed and has received treatment for allergies, including a Cytopoint injection and steroid treatment. She's currently on a multivitamin and omega-3 oil, and her skin is healing well, though her fur is still a bit red. There's a possibility she may require future surgeries, so a commitment to her ongoing health is essential. Maeve is up-to-date on shots, heartworm, and flea preventative, and is microchipped.

Training & Support

Maeve is housebroken and crate-trained. As a very alert and protective dog, she can be prone to barking at new sights and sounds, especially when guarding her windows. With a little guidance and patience, her protective instincts can be managed.
