Lyra

Lyra is a sweet puppy with a heart just as big as her personality. She was found in a box with her siblings back in January and has been a true fighter ever since. She adores playing, especially with her favorite stuffed animals, and loves being around other animals.

Ideal Home

Lyra would do best in a home with someone who understands her unique needs and is willing to be patient, consistent, and compassionate in her care. She needs a home with extensive experience and knowledge with medical pups, where her main caregiver is home often, and with another doggie friend to bond and play with.

Ongoing Health

Lyra was born with spina bifida, which means she is unable to use her back legs and is incontinent. She requires ongoing rehabilitation and supportive care to help maintain her strength, mobility, and overall quality of life. There may be increased financial responsibility over time related to her condition and continued therapy needs.

Training & Support

Lyra’s care includes regular diaper changes, bathing as needed, and extensive rehabilitation therapy to get those legs moving. While her care is more involved than a typical puppy and requires time, patience, and hands-on commitment, her needs could be manageable once a routine is established. She thrives with structure and in a home dedicated to continuing her care.
