Barney Beefcake Bliss

Squishy, splooty, and spectacularly unbothered... this is Barney. A low-riding, soft-hearted gentleman with a built-in off switch and a very serious commitment to comfort. He's the kind of dog who treats life like a cozy Sunday afternoon... all day, every day. Barney is estimated to be around 4 years old and weighs about 60 lbs. He has a smooshy, huggable build that suggests a bulldog/staffie mix, but as with all our rescues, his breed and birthday are our best guess. Barney is wonderfully low-key, easygoing, and affectionate. He lives harmoniously with multiple dogs of all sizes and ages, coexisting peacefully and confidently. He's a companion who doesn't demand attention but is happy to receive affection, especially a good booty scratch. He approaches the world with calm curiosity and politely disengages from anything that isn't his vibe.

Ideal Home

Barney would thrive in a home that appreciates a slower pace and doesn't expect high-energy antics. He's not a fan of chaos or intense exercise; think of him as a professional lounger and slow wanderer. He needs a home without cats and would do best without excessive stairs due to his sturdy build.

Training & Support

Barney is perfectly house-trained and trustworthy. While he's not a fan of crates and may protest with a small "woo-woo," he settles well with freedom and comfort.

• The adoption fee is $1200 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship.)
• Adopters receive extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers, discounts on Embark DNA tests, 30-day pet insurance trial with Trupanion, a free private online dog training session with GoodPup, discounts on in-person dog training through Rover Training, a discount on fresh dog food subscription, coupons for Petco, discounts on pet first aid and hygiene solutions, discounted preventative medications, and access to an exclusive Wags adopters Facebook group.

Barney is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide via Wags' USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (with pick-up options in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You can track their journey in real-time with photo updates and connect with other adopters. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
