Freddie

Freddie is an affectionate, six-year-old, 65-pound Pitbull Terrier who is as sweet as he is calm. He came to us through Barbells For Bullies when he was found as a stray and was at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, he got his freedom ride and is now looking for his forever home! Freddie is housebroken and crate-trained, with low energy and a love for lounging. His favorite activities include chilling on the couch, enjoying chew toys, going for walks, and car rides. He's not a huge fan of baths but will tolerate them, especially with a treat motivation. Freddie is a sensitive soul who aims to please and can get his feelings hurt by a raised voice, making him eager to follow directions.

Ideal Home

Freddie would do best in a home with older children, as younger ones might be a bit too much for his low-key demeanor. He gets along well with calm, submissive female dogs and smaller dogs like the Yorkie in his foster home. However, he can get stressed and reactive around high-energy dogs, so he'd thrive as an only dog or with very mellow canine housemates. Freddie also needs an owner experienced and confident in managing him when he gets overstimulated, especially during playtime with other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Freddie is neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, and has been dewormed. He tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. He is currently on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative.

Training & Support

Freddie is already housebroken and crate-trained. He can get reactive around food, so it's essential that he is fed in his crate, especially if there are other animals in the home. He is a sensitive boy who responds well to gentle guidance and positive reinforcement.
