Meet Juice (who his foster lovingly calls Joey)! This handsome, neutered 4-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix weighs in at about 56 lbs and has eyes that will melt your heart. Juice is a sweet and charming boy who has overcome a lot and is now dreaming of a peaceful, loving home where he can finally feel safe and cherished. He adores his toys and will happily snuggle up with his favorite person, often resting his head and paw on your arm as his special way of showing affection. Juice can be a bit shy and reserved with new people, but with slow, gentle introductions, he blossoms into a deeply loyal and devoted companion.
Ideal Home
Juice would thrive in a quiet home with patient, soft-spoken adults who understand that healing takes time. He needs a home where he can soak up all the attention as the only dog, as he prefers his space around unfamiliar dogs. A cat-free home is a must, as he is not friendly with felines and will chase them.
Ongoing Health
Juice has shown some food aggression when around other dogs, but with stability and routine, he has made great progress and now eats separately in his crate. He may still guard high-value treats, which can be managed by respecting his boundaries.
Training & Support
Juice is working on his leash manners, as he tends to pull when excited. He responds best to patience and kindness; harsh corrections can make him cower and feel guilty. He is crated when left alone due to his love for chewing and has had some potty accidents. He sleeps well in his crate through the night.
