About Max 22250

A foster-to-adopt option is available for Max, giving you the chance to get to know each other before making it official!

Meet Max - Please ensure that you have read his complete bio before submitting an application.

Max is a Chocolate Labrador Retriever with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This happy-go-lucky boy is a true social butterfly. He loves everyone he meets and approaches life with endless enthusiasm and joy. Max gets along well with other dogs and is both house trained and crate trained, making him a great companion for a home ready to match his energy. Max currently weighs about 61lbs, is approximately 1 year old, and his adoption fee is $185.

Ideal Home

A fenced-in yard is a must for Max, giving him a safe space to explore and enjoy the outdoors while he continues to work on his leash skills. He thrives on interaction and would love a home where he can be part of the action and included in daily life. Because of his size and strength, he may accidentally knock over small children, so a home without young kids would be the best fit for him.

Ongoing Health

Max does have some important medical needs that any potential adopter should be aware of. He has been diagnosed with severe tricuspid valve dysplasia, a heart condition that will require lifelong medication and close veterinary monitoring. Routine care will be essential, including yearly bloodwork, echocardiograms every six months, and avoiding strenuous exercise. Max is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped.

Training & Support

Max is a strong, excitable pup who is still learning his leash manners. He can be quite the puller on walks, especially when something catches his interest, so he'll benefit from continued training and guidance to help him channel that excitement.
