Sansa

Sansa is a charming Chihuahua–Cocker Spaniel mix who was born on April 18, 2025, and is currently 10 months old. Weighing around 10 lbs, she's a perfect size for a loving companion. Sansa came to us when her previous family could no longer care for her, but she remains a happy, playful, and affectionate pup ready for her next chapter. She gets along wonderfully with cats, other dogs, children, men, and women. While she might initially bark at strangers, it's just her way of being alert and protective; she warms up beautifully with a little reassurance. Sansa is a loyal and playful girl who would thrive in a home that offers consistent love and guidance to help build her confidence.

Ideal Home

Sansa would thrive in a home that will continue to guide her with love and consistency, helping her build confidence and feel safe. A home with a fenced backyard is preferred, and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities would be a great fit. She needs a family with a true intention to rescue a dog, understanding the needs and behaviors of rescued animals, and ideally with experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience for a rescued puppy are essential.

Ongoing Health

Sansa has received the following veterinary care: Spay/Neuter Certificate, 2 DHPPI Vaccine shots, Rabies Vaccine, Bordetella Vaccine, she has been dewormed, and microchipped. She has also had a 4DX Test and Certificate, a Negative Heartworm Test Certificate, and is on monthly preventive protection (Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm). She also has a Health Certificate and a Vaccines booklet.

Training & Support

Sansa is crate trained and does her business in the yard. However, she is not house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this. Patience and understanding are crucial for rescued dogs as they may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences. Providing a safe and loving environment, establishing a routine, and offering clear boundaries will help her feel secure and build trust.

• Upon approval, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, food, and more.

Transporation

Sansa is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip. We offer door-to-door delivery service with scheduled trips 3-4 times a year, requiring a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. A contracted transport company based in Montana sends a team to Mexico to collect adopted pets. For US adoptions, pets are escorted across the border into Texas. For Canadian adoptions, pets are delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD covers the cost from Mexico to your home. You will receive real-time updates via a private Facebook Messenger group, including photos and videos of your pet's journey, feeding and walking schedules, and estimated time of arrival. The transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery.
