You know those dogs that have one feature that's so adorable you can't help but laugh every time you look at them? For Lou Loomie, it's definitely the ears. They're hilariously oversized, somehow seem bigger than the rest of him, and give him the cutest, goofiest expression. But as funny as they are, they have some pretty serious competition because the moment you start petting this sweet boy, he completely melts into you. Between his giant ears, affectionate personality, and easygoing nature, Lou is the kind of dog that's incredibly easy to fall in love with.
Lou Loomie is believed to be a Lab/Aussie mix approximately 5 months old and currently weighs about 30lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. He's not the type that's constantly bouncing off the walls looking for something to do, but he's also not going to spend all day sleeping on the couch either. If you want to go for a walk, he's ready. Feel like hanging out in the backyard for a little while? He's all in. Want to spend a quiet evening at home? He's perfectly happy doing that too. He seems to naturally adjust to whatever the day has in store, which makes him such an enjoyable dog to live with. When playtime is over, Lou's favorite place is wherever his people are. He's much more interested in affection than toys and has this wonderful habit of leaning and melting into you while you're petting him. He's one of those dogs that doesn't just enjoy affection. He completely soaks it up. If you're looking for a dog that genuinely loves being loved, Lou checks that box without a doubt.
Ideal Home
Lou would do best with experienced dog owners who understand the importance of consistency and boundaries. He's the type that will continue to flourish with confident leadership. We'd also love to see him in a home with a backyard where he can stretch his legs, enjoy the fresh air, and spend time exploring. A semi-active family that enjoys getting out and about but also appreciates a relaxing evening at home would be a wonderful match for him.

Training & Support
Lou is doing really well with potty training and is successful about 85% of the time. He benefits from getting outside a little more frequently than an adult dog would, and keeping him on a consistent schedule has helped him be very successful. Treats are his motivation for learning, making him an eager and food-driven candidate for training. He is also crate trained. He may protest for a few minutes when you first leave but settles down nicely. Continuing crate training will be important for him as he thrives with structure, routine, and clear expectations.
