Zac is a handsome 5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix who weighs about 60 pounds. He was rescued from euthanasia at a county shelter and came to us needing FHO surgery on a back leg due to an old, untreated injury. The surgery went wonderfully, and Zac has fully healed with no further medical needs or medications required. He's now ready to find his forever home and is the definition of a loyal companion, offering the perfect blend of playful energy and laid-back affection.
Ideal Home
Zac thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where he won't be left alone for long periods. He enjoys having other dogs around and is happiest when he has people nearby to share his life with. He's done well meeting new people and has become more comfortable with car rides. While he hasn't lived with young children, his foster believes he would do well with a family committed to continuing his training, especially on how not to jump up when excited.
Ongoing Health
Zac has fully recovered from his FHO surgery and requires no ongoing medical care or medication.
Training & Support
Zac is house-trained and crate-trained. He has excellent canine manners and is respectful of other dogs, knowing when playtime is over. He walks calmly on leash and doesn't react to other dogs. Zac loves people and attention, and while he's generally a conversationalist, especially around meal times, he has shown no signs of resource guarding. His foster notes that he may need continued gentle guidance on not jumping up when excited.
