Prince

Prince is a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees, weighing in at a very stout and impressive 130 pounds of pure, unfiltered Pyr. He's a classic example of his breed, taking his role as neighborhood security very seriously. In the absence of actual sheep, Prince feels it's his duty to alert his people to the Amazon driver, squirrels, and the neighbor walking their dog. He's wonderful with his people and is a silly, fun dog at heart, also showing respect to strangers. Prince loves to play in brief, dramatic bursts, followed by a full-body collapse on the floor, tongue out.

Ideal Home

Prince needs adopters who genuinely understand and appreciate the Great Pyrenees breed and all its quirks. He requires a securely fenced yard and is completely untrustworthy off-leash. Teen-aged kids and up would be best for this big guy.

Ongoing Health

Prince is selectively deaf and hears only what aligns with his personal priorities. He sheds significantly.

Training & Support

Prince is not an obedience champion; he is independent, thoughtful, and comfortable making his own decisions. He barks when he sees things, doing exactly what Great Pyrenees are famous for. If told he has been bad, he will sulk and take it personally. He is perfectly housebroken and supremely well-mannered in the home.

Prince is located in our rescue facility. We do offer transport to approved adopters.
