Sentry is a happy, 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who is estimated to be around 40 pounds and expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from the woods with his mother and siblings during a Texas freeze and has since been raised with love and care. Sentry is affectionate, playful, and loves making every moment fun. He enjoys cuddling, wrestling with his siblings, going for walks, and chasing the water hose. He's a social butterfly who loves people and other dogs. Sentry is potty trained and is growing into a confident, affectionate, and well-rounded dog. He is outgoing, friendly, and eager to be included in everything.
Ideal Home
Sentry would thrive in a home that can provide ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice to help him mature into an exceptional adult dog. He needs continued socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs to build lifelong confidence. We prefer homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Sentry. If you don't currently have a dog, we would love to hear your plan for continued socialization, which could include training classes, playdates, or supervised daycare. Because Sentry is still young, we prefer homes where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time, to ensure he receives regular potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, training, and human interaction.
