Meet Rio! This playful pup, who looks like a walking Oreo cookie, is a bundle of energy and personality. Rio loves to learn and will do just about anything for a tasty treat. He knows his name, sit, down, come, and a "rest" cue for cooperative care, plus he's a pro at hand targeting. Rio's foster mom says he's a fast learner and enjoys training sessions. He's a big fan of fetch and tug-of-war, and while he's working on sharing his toys, he's always eager for more approved chew toys. Rio also loves car rides, though he's still getting used to being restrained. He's described as lovable and active, and he doesn't mind bath time or nail trims. Rio can sometimes be found impersonating a potato on the couch, but he generally prefers a more active lifestyle.
Ideal Home
Rio would do best in a home that understands he is a mouthy and ruff-and-tumble player. He needs a sturdy dog friend his size or larger, who is not easily annoyed and can offer gentle corrections. This dog should be more of a "rugby" player than a "hockey" player. Rio is not a good fit for homes with cats, as he does not see them as approved toys. He can be an only pet if you are prepared to offer him extra guidance.

Rio is up-to-date on vaccinations and has been neutered. He has no known health conditions.
