Rico

Rico is an almost 2-year-old, 62 lb mixed breed with Hound and Rottie in his lineage. He's a sweet and hopeful boy who unfortunately experienced a rough start when his previous family abandoned him. Thankfully, kind neighbors and a loving foster family stepped in to care for him. Rico is a social butterfly with other dogs and enjoys playful romps, but he can be a little shy around new people, needing a moment to warm up. He's already mastered potty and kennel training, walks nicely on a leash, and is a well-behaved indoor companion who enjoys lounging. Outdoors, he transforms into an energetic pup eager to chase balls and play with his canine friends.

Ideal Home

Rico would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can safely explore and enjoy his time outdoors. He's looking for a loving family to devote himself to.

Ongoing Health

Rico has a bum rear leg that occasionally causes him to limp or sit in an unusual way. However, this doesn't seem to cause him pain and doesn't hinder his enjoyment of life.

Training & Support

Rico is already potty and kennel trained and walks well on a leash. He is not destructive with toys and is well-behaved indoors. He may need a little time to adjust to new people, but his sweet nature will shine through with patience and gentle introductions.

Transportation

Rico is currently located in South Texas. He will be transported to his adoptive family's home within the United States and Canada. Our organization delivers to multiple states on the East and West Coast, including Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, Connecticut, and Maryland.
