Rusty is a spunky and active 4-5-year-old neutered male Black Mouth Cur Shepherd mix who weighs around 50lbs. He loves to play, especially games of keep away and chase! Rusty is up-to-date on all his shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He's a well-behaved boy who knows his basic commands and is highly motivated by food and treats. While he had some potty accidents in a shelter environment, he has been perfect in his foster home and is reliably potty-trained and crate-trained. Rusty enjoys car rides and doesn't experience any anxiety. He's likely not a long-distance hiker but would love regular walks, runs, or playtime in a yard.
Ideal Home
Rusty would thrive in an active home that includes him in daily family activities and adventures. He needs a securely fenced yard and is not trained for off-leash freedom. He would not be a good fit for apartment living. He could be a wonderful companion for a single person, a couple, or a family with children older than 10 years old, as his exuberance might accidentally knock over a very young child. He is dog-friendly to medium and large breeds, both male and female, and could be an only dog or have a canine sibling. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

Training & Support
