Blue

Blue arrived at the shelter as a stray in September 2025 and was quickly reunited with his owner. He came in as a stray again on April 8th and was not reclaimed by his owner. Blue is a big, bouncy, affectionate dog who wears his heart on his sleeve. He loves people, melts into pets, and will happily roll over for belly rubs. He's treat-motivated and takes them gently. He can be a bull in a china shop, but has also been described as a sweet, gentle giant who calms down with engagement and loves hugs. He's done well meeting other dogs and appears to be housetrained. Blue does best when he has an outlet for his energy and a patient handler who can redirect his excitement. He's been recommended for a home with kids 12 and over.

Ideal Home

Blue is recommended for a home with children 12 and over. He does great with frequent walks and does not require a fenced yard.

Blue is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

Training & Support

Blue is house-trained and crate-trained. He is working on commands and can sit and is learning to give high fives! He can be jumpy and mouthy when excited but can easily be redirected with toys, bones, or other items. He walks very well on leash but will pull when seeing squirrels or another dog. Blue is unsure of strangers and needs to get to know someone before trusting them fully. It is recommended for meets outside of the household first to build familiarity. Once he knows you, he's a total love bug!
