Daisy Mae is a beautiful 2-year-old, 35lb spayed female pittie mix who has overcome a difficult start in life. Rescued from a case of abuse and neglect, she weighed only 18 lbs at six months old and took months to learn that a gentle hand meant love. Today, Daisy Mae is a happy, affectionate, and playful girl ready to find a family that will offer her the safety and devotion she deserves. She adores children of all ages and is gentle and loving with them. Daisy Mae has a moderate activity level, enjoying walks and playtime, but also knows how to relax. She is leash-trained, house-trained, and crate-trained, sleeping soundly through the night. Daisy Mae is outgoing, smart, and affectionate, loving car rides, heavy chew toys, and being near her people. While she may be shy at first when meeting strangers, she warms up quickly and loves attention once she feels secure.
Ideal Home
Daisy Mae would do wonderfully as an only pet, but can be happy with another dog if slow introductions are made and her canine companion is calm and confident. She thrives in a calm environment where she can have space for mealtime and unwind.
Ongoing Health
Daisy Mae has slightly runny eyes that her foster suspects are due to environmental allergies that flare up during rainy seasons. This requires only occasional gentle cleaning and awareness of seasonal changes.
Training & Support
Daisy Mae benefits from slow introductions with other dogs as she can be a bit bossy during play. She also eats and enjoys treats in her crate to feel safe due to past food insecurity. She may bark at other dogs walking by when she's eating, but has never shown guarding toward people.
