About Snickers
Snickers is an adorable Chihuahua boy weighing about 7.7 lbs. He is social with dogs, children, men, and women, and he loves meeting new friends! This little guy is full of joy and energy. Snickers enjoys running, playing, and being part of the action. He is a small dog with a big personality and a loving heart. He is not a frequent barker and is happiest when he is surrounded by people and companionship. Snickers sleeps in an open crate at night and is comfortable going in and out on his own. He is still young and curious, so chewing is one of his favorite hobbies. His future family should be prepared to provide guidance and plenty of appropriate things to chew. Snickers was born in a home where his future was uncertain. As a tiny puppy, he was promised a secure life, but those plans quickly changed. When the puppies became older and required more care, they were neglected and sometimes left without food. Eventually, we stepped in to help ensure they would have the opportunity to find loving homes. Now Snickers is thriving and looking for a family that will love him for the rest of his life. He is ready to trade uncertainty for security, and he has so much love to give in return.
Ideal Home
- Home with a fenced backyard
- Active family that enjoys outdoor activities
- Families with a real intention to rescue a dog, not just adopt
- Families with an open conscience about the needs of rescued animals
- Experience in dog behavior and training, or willingness to hire a trainer
- High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies
Ongoing Health
Snickers has completed a comprehensive health protocol including:
- Spay/Neuter Certificate
- 2 DHPPI Vaccines
- Rabies Vaccine
- Bordetella Vaccine
- Deworming
- Microchip
- 4DX Test and Certificate
- Heartworm Test Negative Certificate
- Monthly Preventive Protection (Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm)
- Health Certificate
- Vaccine booklet
Please be aware that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past experiences. Patience and understanding are crucial for building trust.
Training & Support
Snickers is not house-trained. Rescued pets often require time and consistent effort to learn new behaviors. We recommend providing plenty of appropriate chew toys to redirect his chewing. Patience, a consistent routine, and clear boundaries will help Snickers feel secure and thrive.
