Lou Loomie is a 5-month-old, approximately 30lb, Lab/Aussie mix with a heart as big as his adorable, oversized ears! He's a wonderfully balanced pup who enjoys a good walk, some time in the backyard, or a cozy evening at home. Lou thrives on affection and will melt into you when you pet him, soaking up all the love you can give. He's also dog-friendly and would do well with confident, established adult dogs who can show him the ropes, but he'd also be happy as an only dog.
Ideal Home
Lou would do best with experienced dog owners who understand the importance of consistency and boundaries. He would also love a home with a backyard. A semi-active family that enjoys outdoor activities but also appreciates relaxing evenings at home would be a wonderful match.
Ongoing Health
Lou is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, and a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable. He has also had a heartworm test and treatment if needed.
Training & Support
Lou is doing well with potty training, with an approximately 85% success rate. He benefits from frequent trips outside and a consistent schedule. He is highly motivated by treats, making him an eager and food-driven candidate for training. Lou is also crate trained, though he may protest for a few minutes when you first leave. Continuing crate training is recommended for him, as he thrives with structure, routine, and clear expectations.

We facilitate nationwide adoptions using our USDA certified transport system, with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. You can track your pet's journey in real time. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
