Meet Oakley! This handsome 68lb terrier/pitbull mix, born around December 16, 2021, is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet. Oakley is a true shadow, wanting to be wherever you are. His foster mom describes him as independent and very smart, already knowing commands like "sit" and "get on your bed." He's a professional leash walker who enjoys three to four strolls a day and understands the concept of "slow down." While Oakley tolerates other dogs, he would likely be happiest as the only canine companion in his new home. He does have a keen interest in chasing cats and squirrels, so a home without those critters would be ideal. Despite a rough start in life, found as a stray in tough circumstances and underweight with an injured ear, Oakley's spirit remains incredibly sweet. He loves to snuggle up by your side, and he's just waiting to give you the most heartwarming greetings and tail wags.

Oakley would thrive in a home where he can be your constant companion. He would likely prefer to be the only dog in the household and would do best in a home without cats or squirrels due to his strong prey drive.

Oakley is located in Houston, TX. Transport is available out of state, with ground transports coordinating weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states. Adopters can track the transport van using the Life360 app and may receive updates via Facebook chats.
