Meet Rocket (aka Rocko) Smart, Loyal, Affectionate & Couch Cuddle Champion

Rocket, a handsome 3-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Pit mix, is looking for his forever home! This 65-lb bundle of love was found on the side of a highway in Houston, the victim of a car accident. Despite his ordeal, he was incredibly trusting and allowed rescuers to help him. After weeks of dedicated veterinary care, Rocket has made a full recovery. He's heartworm-negative and ready to shower his new family with affection and loyalty.

Rocket is an incredibly well-behaved dog. He's house-trained and crate-trained, enjoying his crate as a cozy den. He walks beautifully on a leash, and with his professional training, he already knows commands like sit, down, stay, come, and heel. While he has a prey drive and can be a champion chewer, he's happiest with tough chew toys and can be politely managed with a bark collar if needed.

He absolutely adores people and thrives on attention. Rocket is gentle and patient, even with young children, and has shown he can handle the happy chaos of a busy household. He's also dog-friendly and would likely do well with a canine sibling or as the sole furry companion. Rocket has a moderate energy level; a good play session or a couple of walks will leave him content to relax for the rest of the day.

Rocket would love a family who can appreciate his affectionate nature and provide him with plenty of sturdy chew toys.

Rocket is neutered, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on all his vaccinations. He is also heartworm-negative.

Training & Support

Rocket is house-trained, crate-trained, and has received professional training in basic and advanced obedience, including e-collar training. He is a natural at learning commands. His prey drive means he will chase small animals.
