Rio

Rio is a charming 1-year-old, 19lb Chihuahua & Dachshund mix who has plenty of love to share! He can be a little shy at first, but with a little time and a tasty treat, his affectionate and loyal personality will shine through. You might find him peeking out from under blankets or sneaking around corners just to get a glimpse of you. He enjoys the company of other dogs and is great with cats. While he benefits from slow introductions to larger dogs to avoid feeling threatened, he is playful and sweet with his canine friends.

Ideal Home

Rio would thrive in a calm home where he can feel safe and secure. He would do best without young children. A fenced-in yard is ideal for him to continue practicing his leash-walking skills in a safe environment.

Ongoing Health

Rio is potty trained and crate trained. He enjoys his crate and would appreciate having 24/7 access to it in his forever home.

Training & Support

Rio is still learning leash manners and would benefit from a patient adopter who can help him build confidence. Consistency and encouragement will help him blossom into a wonderful walking companion.
