Branch came to us from Spokane County Animal Protection Service after needing a fresh start. He was adopted, but unfortunately returned after his family noticed he was struggling with using his mouth when he felt uncomfortable. Since then, we've learned that Branch is a dog who needs patience, understanding, and a family willing to take the time to earn his trust. Here at the shelter, Branch has shown us that when he feels comfortable, he can do well with handling. We've worked with him on trying different harnesses, checking his feet, and looking in his mouth, and he has been able to handle these things with calm, slow interactions. However, Branch has shown that the transition into a home environment can be challenging for him, and he will need an adopter who understands that trust takes time.
