Meet Slade! This handsome chocolate Lab is just shy of 2 years old and has striking ember eyes. Slade is an energetic boy looking for a special family experienced with working breeds and their high energy levels. He truly shines in one-on-one settings, where his focus is impressive and his eagerness to engage is clear. While his playful, puppy-like nature can take over with distractions, he's still young, enthusiastic, and learning to channel his energy appropriately. Slade is a "Little Hero" who has been blessed with a second chance and is excited to start his next journey with you!
Ideal Home
Slade would thrive in an active home that can provide:

Ongoing Health
Slade has received all vetting, including DAPP, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, flea prevention, heartworm testing and prevention, and micro-chipping.
Training & Support
Slade's leash manners are decent, but he’ll need continued work on his heel command. He knows "sit" and "down," especially when treats are involved, though he can show a bit of a stubborn streak. With consistent reinforcement, structure, and positive training, Slade has all the potential to grow into an incredible companion. Our goal is to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts.

Transportation
Slade is available for transportation in VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN & OH. There are predetermined locations and times for transport. For those being picked up at our Angleton, Tx location, the fee is $75. Private custom transport routes and destinations are available upon request with financial responsibility on the adopted family. Our animals are transported in comfortable buses or vans equipped with air conditioning and onboard attendants providing 24-hour care. You will be able to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication. Our Adoption Coordinator will help to find the closest transport pickup location to you!
