Trix is an 8-month-old, 35-pound spayed female Pitbull mix with the sweetest, smartest soul, who is a bit shy. She and her brother were surrendered to a shelter, and Trix was the more timid of the two. While her brother has found his family, Trix needed extra time in foster care to build her confidence. She was significantly undersocialized early in life and her baseline is fear of humans, but she has never shown any reactivity. When unsure, she looks for a safe place to hide. She is gentle and quiet, and incredibly observant, picking things up quickly. Trix learns fast; she figured out a doggy door within days and is always learning. With patience and time spent building trust, she becomes more comfortable and will even play with toys when she thinks no one is watching, run and sunbathe with other dogs, and eventually cuddle on the couch or sleep in bed with her humans.
Ideal Home
Trix needs a home where someone is around more often than not, as she's still a puppy and building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a ready-made confident dog and requires patience, compassion, and commitment. She would thrive with a confident canine companion to follow and learn from, but adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building.

Training & Support
Trix is housebroken, loves her crate, and is learning to walk on a leash. She has been around kids and was shy at first. While she has an unknown history with cats, she is very quiet. She is a diamond in the rough who will require patience and commitment.

- We are a volunteer-run rescue and ask that you be serious about moving forward in our adoption process.

- Our process starts with an application. If you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview.
- This is followed by a video call with the foster home.
- Virtual home visits, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process.
Transporation
Trix is currently in San Antonio, Texas, and can be transported once an adopter is matched. Transport is included in the adoption donation.
