Meet Dolly! This sweet, resilient lady is around 7-10 years young and is searching for a loving home where she can finally relax and be cherished. Dolly came to us from a local shelter in rough shape, underweight and with a limp. Thanks to love and good nutrition, she's blossomed into a healthy 11-pound pup. While her left hind leg, which previously suffered a broken hip and foot, may still lift a little when she gets excited, it certainly doesn't stop her from enjoying life! She's a calm, easygoing girl who politely "chats" or scratches your leg when she wants to be picked up. Dolly is a people-loving pup who prefers cuddling with her humans, though she'll occasionally try to join in with other dogs. She's not much of a toy player but loves relaxing beside you on the couch and happily claims a prime spot between her foster parents' pillows at bedtime. Dolly is house-trained and generally quiet, and her favorite daily activity is soaking up the sunshine. She's done well around young children, but her experience with cats is unknown. Dolly rides nicely in the car and is cooperative for grooming and bathing.
Ideal Home
Dolly would do best in a one-story home or with someone who can easily pick her up. We will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.
Ongoing Health
Dolly is recovering from a previous hip injury and has not yet been taken on walks. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, protected with ProHeart 12 (12-month heartworm prevention), and recently had a dental cleaning.
Training & Support
Dolly is house-trained and generally very quiet.
