This sweet little pup is Aster! She's a 10-week-old Beagle/Lab mix with a heart full of love and a wagging tail ready to greet you. Aster is an affectionate and playful pup who enjoys wrestling with her toys and snuggling up close. She was rescued with her littermates from a rural organization in Virginia, and while we don't have confirmed details about her parents, we believe she'll grow to be a small to medium-sized dog. Aster weighed approximately 12 lbs as of July 5th and is ready to find her forever family.

Ideal Home

Aster would thrive in a home where someone is present for at least half of the workday, as it's not healthy for puppies to be left alone for extended periods. A home with current pets who are up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered is required, as veterinary references will be contacted.

Ongoing Health

Aster is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines and dewormings. As part of the adoption agreement, adopters will be responsible for completing her spay/neuter procedure at their own veterinarian's expense. Upon providing proof of the procedure, a $100 spay/neuter deposit will be refunded.

Training & Support

As a young puppy, Aster will benefit from continued socialization and consistent training. The rescue emphasizes that it is not healthy for puppies to be crated and left alone for 5 or more hours a day, and that lunch breaks or neighborly check-ins do not fulfill the requirement of having someone home for half the workday.

• We require all current pets in the household to be up to date on shots and be spayed/neutered. Veterinary references will be contacted.
• We require that someone be in the home/work from home half of the work day throughout the work week.

Aster will be available for adoption on July 12th at the Petsmart located at 5401 Urbana Pike, Frederick, MD, from 11 am to 3 pm.
