Oliver is a 10-year-old Husky weighing about 60 lbs. He can be a bit timid and shy when first meeting new people or entering new environments, but once he has time to settle in, his gentle and affectionate nature begins to shine through. Oliver enjoys the company of other dogs his size and would likely do best with a canine companion who is tolerant of his quirky personality and play style. He walks well on leash and one of his favorite things is exploring the world around him. Because compatibility is important, a meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure a good fit for everyone involved. Oliver cannot go to a home with small animals or young children. While he is a senior, he is still a Husky at heart - an active, intelligent breed that needs an adopter committed to keeping both his mind and body stimulated. With the right balance of patience, structure, activity, and love, Oliver will make a wonderful and loyal companion.

Oliver is still learning how to appropriately navigate new experiences and interactions with other dogs, so he will benefit from continued guidance, patience, and positive reinforcement. Many of our dogs have had limited socialization before rescue and may need time to adjust to life as a family pet. Skills like leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice.
