A little about them
MIRA, also called Miranda, is a sweet, gentle Schnauzer mix who is approximately 3 years and 1 month old and weighs 18 pounds. Rescued from a hoarding situation, she is shy at first but gradually becomes affectionate, cuddly, and trusting. She loves treats, calm voices, and relaxing beside her dog friends.
Ideal Home
MIRA does well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion. She has not lived with children, and she is not comfortable around cats. Her adopter should be prepared to patiently help her adjust to new people, situations, and unfamiliar animals.
Ongoing Health
MIRA is spayed and vaccinated, and she will arrive with proof of her vaccines and test records. She receives a monthly heartworm-prevention pill. Any future veterinary care or dental work is the adopter's responsibility.
Training & Support
MIRA is calm and generally low-energy. She is learning leash skills after not being walked during her first three years and can be startled by loud noises. House-training is still in progress, so frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will be important. She responds best to treats and a calm, gentle voice. Adopters receive 50% off one training session through the rescue's training partner, excluding tax and applicable gas surcharges.
