About Buttercup

Buttercup is a sweet, gentle, and shy 3-year-old girl who weighs about 48 pounds. She ended up at Wayside Waifs when a shelter in Texas needed more space. While the shelter environment is loud, Buttercup is making new friends and enjoying belly rubs. She loves treats and takes them very gently. Buttercup is full-grown and won't get any bigger. She enjoys playing with squeaky toys and is eager to learn commands. Buttercup was initially fearful when meeting other dogs but warms up after a few minutes and can coexist comfortably. She would do best with polite dogs who can go at her pace.

Ideal Home

Buttercup is a shy dog who needs a patient and understanding adopter. New people and things make her nervous, so a low-traffic home is recommended. She is house-trained. To ensure compatibility, any resident dogs must meet Buttercup before adoption.

Buttercup has no known health conditions.

Training & Support

Buttercup doesn't appear to know any commands and would benefit from learning basic obedience. She can be fearful around new dogs but warms up over time and enjoys playing with squeaky toys.
