Meet Ivan, the Iconic, a year-and-a-half-old, 50-pound bundle of pure joy! He's a charming Pittie/Staffy mix with big, expressive ears that make him look like a curious deer. Ivan approaches life with enthusiastic wiggles and a love for all things fun, especially toys! He's a master at body-checking his herding ball and adores a good game of fetch, though he might occasionally decide to keep the prize for himself. He also has a blast with water, often seen playfully "chomping" at hoses. Ivan is a sweet and affectionate boy who warms up quickly. While he might seem a little reserved at first, once he decides you're his person, he'll melt into your lap for cuddles and belly rubs. He's treat-motivated and eager to learn, making training a rewarding experience.
Ideal Home
Ivan would thrive in a home with a medium-energy female dog who enjoys playing but can also set clear boundaries. He needs a home without cats, as he views them as fun chasing targets. Ivan would also be wonderful with older children who can handle his enthusiastic zoomies, and with time and guidance, he could learn to give younger children space. A yard for him to play in, an active adopter, and someone who enjoys training and play would be ideal. Clear boundaries and a consistent routine are important for his success.

Training & Support
Ivan loves other dogs and is a great playmate, but he is still learning to read social cues. He can get overly excited with more mellow or insecure dogs. He responds exceptionally well to clear social cues from other dogs. Ivan is treat-motivated and eager to learn, making him a joy to train.

Ivan is located in the Greater Houston area, Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA certified transport system. This ensures safe and comfortable travel with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. Real-time tracking, photo updates, and a private Facebook event page for adopters are included. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs.
